Milk relay to the top of snowdon for Macmillan

Our very own farmers will be taking part in a milk relay up Snowdon tomorrow (Thursday September 10) to raise awareness of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The farmers will be passing on one of our milk bottle as a baton and getting it all the way to the summit of the mountain, in readiness for Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September. On those days Snowdon Mountain Railway will be donating profits from tea and coffee at its summit cafe – the UK’s highest cafe - to Macmillan.

“We are doing this to help raise awareness of the Macmillan Largest Coffee morning fundraising event taking place on Snowdon, and also to encourage people to get involved by holding their own coffee morning in work, at home, in a local coffee shop or anywhere where people can get together and have coffee,” explains Richard Tomlinson one of our farmer members.

The farmers will start from Llanberis at 9am and aim to be at the summit between 12.30pm and 1pm, where they will be greeted Macmillan’s fundraiser in North Wales, Eleri Brady.

“So many people are affected by Cancer and we want to do something to help support Macmillan, which does so much to help sufferers and their families. Being a dairy co-operative we fit in well with the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning activity and thought that we could help by promoting this and also providing the milk to a great cause.”
